Work Plan 2006
As part of the overall focus on sustainable built development a work plan for the PSSDG has been agreed as follows:
Meeting 1:
- identify sustainability options that have succeeded in being developed, and those that failed and the associated barriers
- identification of policy levers that influence sustainability in built development
the outcome:
- compilation of a list of public sector projects that could become possible demonstration projects
- initial list/mapping of good practice case studies of successful projects/products etc
- identification of resources that assist in incorporating sustainability into built development
Meeting 2:
- identification and discussion of common issues relating to sustainability options;
(successes, failures, barriers, solutions)
- use commonalities to inform possible joint statement eg linked to procurement
the outcome:
- initiate development of good practice guide and 'route map' to resolve barrier issues
- identification of possible partnership projects first draft of joint statement? (relating to procurement initiatives/successes)
Meeting 3:
- focus on specific projects, products & influence necessary to achieve Sustainable Built Development (SBD)
the outcome:
- identification of specific demonstration projects, products or technologies
- promotion of public sector policy on procurement relating to SBD
Meeting 4:
- determine specific actions that have been taken or are planned, that achieve or work towards SBD
- refine and discuss joint policy statement, chase further signatories
the outcome:
- Identification of changes in policy/behaviour/action that have resulted from first years work on SBD
- further promotion of joint policy statement
- increased public sector buy-in to this agenda
