A glamorous award

The Awards presented at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainable Business Awards were specially made by local glass artist and graphic designer Sue Tinkler from Tinklertastic Glass.

Each award is an original design that represents an aspect of the winning companies business or location. The Awards were hand-made y fusing together layers of recycled glass in a kiln. The supports are made from a large Cherry tree which blew down in the 1990 storm in Hampshire.

Tinklertastic Glass design and make a range of glass products, including, fused glass mirrors, table lamps and contemporary decorative hangings. They also make a range of dichroic glass jewellery. Each piece of jewellery is individually hand made by fusing together layers of glass in a kiln. Dichroic glass was originally created for the Aerospace industry and has a transmitted colour and a contrasting reflected colour that shifts depending on the viewing angle, giving it a 'two-tone' iridescent effect.
