GKN Aerospace Overall Winners at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainable Business Awards 2005
The third Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainable Business Awards ceremony was held at the Guildhall in Winchester on the 9th November. The evening was a celebration of local businesses economic, social and environmental achievements. Councillor Michael Woodhall, Deputy Leader of Hampshire County Council, who are one of the major sponsors of the Awards, was the Master of Ceremonies with conservationist, Bill Oddie OBE, presenting the Awards to the winners. Pupils from the Brighton Hill School Choir and Steel Band (Basingstoke) provided musical accompaniment during the intervals, even getting a chance to sing with Bill Oddie! The fantastic food was partly provided by Hampshire Fare and the Miracles Project provided electric vehicles to transport equipment to the venue. The Awards are an excellent way to recognise the achievements of the many businesses in Hampshire striving to meet the sustainability challenge. The Natural Resources Initiative is particularly proud to be a sponsor of the event and congratulate all the finalists on their achievements and wish them all the best of luck in the future. |
