Resource Recovery Parks: Where Next?

Urban Mines worked with the Resource Recovery Forum and Eden Project on a conference on 5th July, supported by the National Industrial Symbiosis Programme, entitled Resource Recovery Parks: Where Next?

Interest in Resource Recovery Parks (RRPs) has increased rapidly in recent years and the purpose of the conference was to explore the environmental and economic benefits that RRPs claim to bring. Around 50 delegates made the long journey to the South West and heard presentations from a wide range of speakers with varying experience and expertise in developing RRPs.

From Urban Mines Phil Hesford (pictured), gave a presentation on the Sustainable Growth Park concept with particular emphasis on the practical barriers, based on experience Urban Mines have gained in Yorkshire, that may need to be overcome before RRPs can be successfully delivered in UK.

All the presentations from the conference are available on the Resource Recovery Forum’s website at: http://www.resourcesnotwaste.org/EDEN/index.html
