Portsmouth based newspaper, The News, recently held the Business Excellence Awards 2004. It is with great delight that we can announce that Maggie Francis , the Co-ordinator for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Business Environment Forum was the runner-up in the Achiever of the Year Category.

The purpose of this award is “ to recognise a manager or employee whose individual contribution to the success of a business has been exceptional.” The judges were looking for evidence of improvement to the company directly attributable to the entrant plus testimonials from both within and without the organisation.

Maggie received the award in recognition of her work in pulling together the very successful Sustainable Business Awards 2003, in which she single-handedly secured 15 corporate sponsors for the awards and which has prompted local industry into making real changes in policy. Congratulations Maggie!
