Material Resources Strategy
Workshop 5

The next MRS workshop is taking place on September 23rd. There will be two sessions to make it more accessible for stakeholders. The daytime session will take place in The Winchester Guildhall from 10am - 4pm. There will be an abridged version taking place at the offices of Hampshire County Council at The Castle in Winchester from 5.30 - 9pm.

Since the last workshop in July, each resource stream has gone through an appraisal process to look at the best way forward, for example sticking to a 'business as usual' model, using a model to 'stretch best practice', or indeed options in between. Workshop 5 will feedback on these, looking at the preferred solution for both the Process Chain and resource stream groups.

We will also be looking in detail at the various options available for unavoidable waste. There will be displays from some of the waste management companies around the UK to illustrate the different waste treatment options available. Discussions will also focus around the supply of minerals in Hampshire and the balance between primary minerals and recycled mineral and soil resources.

If you would like to be added to the MRS database or would like to be part of this workshop, please contact Damian Reynolds. Tel: 01962 845290 or Email: damian.reynolds@hants.gov.uk
